How to find the IOS Images you need

Here's a document that provides tips on upgrading your lab equipment. The document provides a comprehensive list of all hardware with recommendations on which IOS to download for each device.
The document was developed by running all the labs in CCNA Exploration & Discovery against these recommended images. This is not to say that other IOS images won't run equally as well, but it does give you the peace of mind of knowing that these IOS images have already been tested.
One of the primary objectives of this testing was to find IOS images that would run for multiple courses. The goal was to reduce the number of times you may need to load alternative IOS images for different courses. We hope you find this information valuable.
The attached document is also located on Academy Connection. It is updated periodically, so you may want to check for new updates from time to time. The document appears under all the various courses that use hardware and IOS images. (CCNA, CCNP, etc.)

Here's one way to find this document on Academy Connection:

  • Log in to Academy Connection and click on TOOLS
  • Find Curriculum & Instructional Tools
  • Select Curriculum -> input "CCNA Discovery"
  • Select Course -> input "Networking for Home and Small Business"
  • Select Version -> input "4.0"

Then click <Find Tools>

  • You'll see three tabs in this order: Curriculum, Course , Classroom Set Up
  • You'll be defaulted on "Course"
  • Select "Classroom Set Up"
  • It's here you will find "NetAcad Maintenance - Image & Hardware Support"

This is the Excel Image you need. Click to download a new version.

Let us know what you think. Please respond in this discussion thread to provide feedback and to continue the discussion in regards to your lab equipment.
